On May 5th, Volition will be celebrating its 20th anniversary alongside the George Mason Review in the JC Bistro at 7 p.m. This will be a wonderful opportunity for students to network and unwind during finals week with food and refreshments.   We hope to see you there!

What better way to return after a relaxing Spring Break than to enjoy a night of music, literature, and refreshments at Volition’s Open Mic Night? Our March 17th Open Mic Night will be held at the Bistro, first floor of the JC, beginning at 7:00 p.m. We hope everyone had a great time at February’s event and will show up for even more fun this week!

Tune your instruments and polish your short fiction; Volition’s Open Mic Night is occurring this week, Thursday Feb. 25 in the Corner Pocket at the HUB, starting at 7:00 p.m. Come for a night of music, poetry, fiction, and food! More information can be found on our events page, or by talking to us in-person at our JC kiosk sometime this week. And remember, our Spring 2016 submission deadline is March 31st.

The Fall 2015 issue has arrived! Stop by the Office of Student Media to pick up a copy as soon as tomorrow!

The Office of Student Media is hosting a week-long series of events in honor of George Mason’s birthday. To promote the week’s theme celebrating the US Constitution’s First Amendment, an Open Mic Night will be held at the JC Bistro beginning at 7:00 PM. Please consider attending all the other OSM events occurring throughout the week of 12/7-12/11!

As of November 1st at midnight, the Fall 2015 Submission Period has officially ended. Thank you to each and every contributor to this semester’s magazine. Volition appreciates your contributions. If you are still interested in submitting your work to the magazine — short stories, screenplays, prose, poetry, art, and photography — keep it prepared and on-hand for the Spring 2016 Submission Period which will begin late January and end late March.

We’re approaching the final stretch to our Fall 2015 submission deadline — November 1st is almost here! Don’t just think about submitting; just do it! We are accepting your short stories, screenplays, prose, poetry, art and photography to be considered for this semester’s issue. Click on the Submit tab for more information.

Our next Open Mic Night is coming up soon! We’re excited to partner with Music Productions Club of GMU this time around! Come to the Bistro at 7 pm on Thursday, October 22nd for free pizza and entertainment, and possibly perform your own creative work!
